I Thought I Was Unlucky in Love — Until He Came Into My Life

For years, I blamed myself for failed relationships. But sometimes, love arrives quietly just when you’ve stopped searching.

There was a time when I genuinely believed love wasn’t meant for me.

I’d look around and see people fall so easily sharing morning texts, weekend coffee dates, and planning futures like it was the most natural thing in the world. I wanted that. I really did. But every time I tried, love slipped through my fingers like sand.

I started telling myself

“Maybe I’m just unlucky in love.”

I gave my heart freely. Stayed longer than I should have. Believed in people who only saw me as temporary. And eventually, I began to wonder was something wrong with me?

But then... he came along.

And everything changed.

He didn’t rush in with promises. He didn’t try to impress.

He just stayed. Gently, consistently, lovingly.

He saw the real me the emotional, messy, loud, soft, passionate version.

And he didn’t flinch. He didn’t run.

He held space for my overthinking.

He reassured my doubts.

He showed up not just on the good days, but especially when I was falling apart.

And slowly, I realized…

I wasn’t unlucky in love. I was just being protected.

Protected from all the wrong people until the right one found me.

With him, everything feels light.

Not perfect but peaceful.

We don’t chase drama or play games. We just be together, laughing, growing, dreaming.

And for the first time in a long time,

I wake up feeling like I don’t have to earn love. I am loved. Fully. Naturally.

So, to the girl I used to be the one who thought she’d always be alone:

You were never unlucky.

You were just waiting.

And trust me when it’s right, it doesn’t feel like a question.

It feels like home.
